The Scarlet Hand's banner of war.
The Scarlet Hand is a terrorist organisation run by Everafters whose goal is to take down the magical barrier surrounding Ferryport Landing and, ultimately, take over the world, enslaving regular humans. Their aim is to kill all the Grimms as the Barrier can only be brought down after all of the Grimms are dead. The villains in each of the books are all members of the organisation, and the Grimms only find out about the Scarlet Hand themselves after Jack the Giant Killer madly screams out their name when he is being carried away by the giants. After discovering the existence of the Scarlet Hand, the Grimms found out that Henry Grimm and Veronica Grimm were kidnapped by the orgainsation.
As the name suggests, the symbol used by the group is a blood-red handprint. The members of the group generally wear the symbol on their chests. This symbol is also left at the scenes of the murders and other doings of the group. Several members of the group have been known to cover entire rooms with red handprints.
The leader of the group, known as the Master, started the group in order to gain freedom from his personal prison.
